Following the success from the first Anchorman film, many fans have questioned the need for a second film.
Released in 2004, ‘Anchorman - The Legend of Ron Burgundy’ made $28.4 million in its opening weekend and $90.6 million worldwide in its total theatrical run. In the planning stages the sequel was first scrapped in 2012, however this year Will Ferrell appeared on the American chat show ‘Conan’ where he announced that the sequel would be going ahead. It is set for theatrical release on December 1, 2013.
Though many highly anticipate the release of the film, many fans believe that the same heights cannot be reached.
Many believe that the film may flop, ruining the reputation of the first. I, a fan of the film believe that the film will make as much, if not more from viewers around the world. However, falling short of the first film quality wise may taint a story I believe should be left as it is.
