Famous for their style of play, Arsenal's start to the season has hinted the beginnings of a successful side. With Arsene Wenger delighted with his teams positive start to the season, are their signs of the famous North-London club returning to their long awaited position back at the top?
The summer transfer window saw a number of significant signings for the North-London club, allowing the experienced Arsene Wenger to emulate the style of play that mirrors the famous Arsenal side of the 2003-2004 season. Though Wenger has tried to bring the fluent passing game commonly associated with European football to the Premier League, he often lacked the fire power to match that of 'The Invincibles'. The likes of Thierry Henry, Sol Campbell and Patrick Viera held together an unbeaten Arsenal side that many pundits consider to be the best Premier League team of all time. Although the team did have a strong back line, a formidable strike force and many talented individuals, a foundation had been set by their manager. The style of play bought to the club by Arsene Wenger saw a group of talented individuals become a talented team and, as a result, won 49 consecutive league games along with silverware.
With the likes of Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker contributing to the sides positive start to the season, can Arsene Wenger throw Arsenal back into the mix of the 'Top Four'? Their disappointing result against title hopefuls Chelsea FC set them back with a 2-1 loss. Arsene Wenger blamed their loss on the defensive aspect of their game. Wenger did go on to state that his side showed many qualities' and expressed his delight towards many parts of his sides performance.

After a hard fought win against Olympiakos on Wednesday, Arsene Wenger's side showed that they are capable of winning against tough opposition even when the team does not play at their best. The 3-1 victory at The Emirates Stadium included goals from new signing Lukas Podolski, Aaron Ramsey and Gervinho. Like before, there are many talented individuals in the team. I believe this Arsenal team, though very talented, lack a certain character to lead them in the right direction. The departure of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Robin Van Persie does not help their cause. With a Tony Adams figure at the helm, Arsenal would definitely be challenging the best. Maybe an individual such as Ramsey, now the Welsh National sides captain can fit this mould. Though he may be considered too young at the age of 21.
With a character that shows leadership and commitment, I believe that Arsenal can achieve more than what they have done over the last few years. With regards to those who believe Arsenal Wenger's time is up, I strongly advise them to prepare for a shock in the coming seasons.
